DOWN AMONG THE DEAD MEN

Frank's back . . .
At first glance, to newly-promoted DCI Frank Keane, the horrifically bloody crime scene in suburban Birkdale looks like another murder-suicide. The husband kills the wife and then himself. Frank and the rest of the Major Incident Team have seen too many cases like it before. It would be wrapped up quickly if it wasn’t for the dead couple’s missing teenage son, Nicky.
As Nicky’s holiday job as a runner on a movie being shot in the city brings unwanted press attention, Frank Keane knows that time is running out to find the missing boy. The only question is if Nicky is a victim or a killer. When it comes, the answer is worse than anyone expects. For the people making the movie, the killings are a potential disaster. The project is everything to writer Dean Quinner. With new London money and a rising American actor lighting up the set, Quinner’s vision is almost complete and he’ll do anything to protect it. What he doesn’t know is that the deaths in Liverpool are just the start of a twisted international killing spree by a ruthless and ambitious psychopath with a point to prove.
With events fast moving way beyond Frank Keane’s control, he has no option but to mount a piecemeal operation on unfamiliar and dangerous territory. As the odds, and the stakes, stack up, Frank and his  hastily-assembled team become the only thing that might prevent a killing that will shock the world.
